Cedar Park Water Restrictions

Current Stage: Stage 2

Residential Watering Hours:

  • Only water before 10 a.m. or after 7 p.m. on your designated day

Residential Watering Days:

  • Odd Addresses: WEDNESDAY and/or SATURDAY
  • Even Addresses: THURSDAY and/or SUNDAY

Commercial (including HOA-owned property addresses) Watering Days and Hours:

  • TUESDAY and/or FRIDAY

No watering on MONDAY

These activities are allowed under current watering restrictions:

  • Ornamental water fountains
  • Irrigation and sprinklers before 10:00 a.m. or after 7:00 p.m. on your designated days
  • Watering by hand anytime with a pistol grip nozzle or automatic shut-off
  • A drip or soaker hose can be used anytime
  • Residential car washing is allowed anytime but must use a pistol grip nozzle or automatic shutoff
  • Charity car washes are allowed anytime but must use a pistol grip nozzle or automatic shut-off
  • Commercial car washes, meeting minimum 50% water recycling requirement
  • Splash pads and other commercial recreational water devices
  • Events involving the use of water such as festivals, parties, water slides, and other activities involving the use of water if the water being used drains to a recirculating device, or onto a pervious surface to prevent water waste
  • Filling of all new and existing swimming pools, hot tubs, wading pools
  • Pressure washing must have a spray nozzle that uses no more than 3.5 gallons of water per minute and employs a working trigger shut-off with a protective weep mechanism
  • Extended landscape variances must be requested. One 21-day variance is granted per installation.
  • Irrigation of commercial plant nurseries and residential food-supplying vegetable gardens

Prohibited Water Uses Under Current Watering Restrictions:

  • Water waste
  • Off-schedule watering
  • Broken or mis-directed sprinkler heads
  • Excessive runoff or ponding
  • Controllable leaks
